LAND or PROPERTY DONATIONS
Your generosity may be expressed through donations of land for building Habitat houses or an existing structure for renovation. We would love to speak with you about your site and how families may benefit from your donation. Please contact our office by telephone, letter or email so that we may have further discussions.
NEW BUILDING MATERIAL DONATIONS
If it can be used to build a house, we need your new building materials and welcome donations. All such in-kind donation items must conform to the individual project specifications, so please contact our office by telephone, letter or email to verify the criteria of materials you desire to contribute.
SPONSORING A HOME
We encourage businesses and individuals to sponsor a home. Recognition is given to all who sponsor and make sponsoring a home part of their giving program. We would love to speak with you about your ability to contribute in this way to our building efforts.

We welcome tool donations and welcome a discussion regarding your contribution toward our building efforts. Contact our office by telephone, letter or email. Excess tools not needed by our affiliate will be sold in our ReStore at 115 No. Broadway to help build Habitat homes.
DONATIONS OF ITEMS FOR THE RESTORE
"Don't Dump It, Donate & Deduct It!" We welcome donations of acceptable items to sell at the ReStore. For those wishing to donate items, please note the list of acceptable materials outlined in our Donation Material Screening Criteria. We accept good to excellent condition items like: kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, lighting fixtures, working appliances, interior & exterior building materials, used furniture, & more! (We appreciate a phone call prior to drop-off, please.) We are always looking for volunteers to work in the store.
A lot of folks ask us, "How do I know the value of an item I am donating for tax purposes?" Well, technically your item has no value to Habitat until we sell it (value=what the market will bear), and we do not get between you and the IRS. So, the alternative is to visit a site called, Itsdeductible.com where you can query the site to get information that may help you determine your donation's value.
DONATE A CAR
Habitat has a Car donation program. It's easy, just make the call or contact HFHI, find the "Donate a Car" link (they also accept RV's, boats, etc.) and be sure to note your donation credited to the Schenectady Habitat affiliate. Click here to learn more about the program.
